University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship 2015-2016 for PhD, Professional Doctorates : University of Otago is Introduced new Scholarship scheme to provide Financial support for doctoral Students stuying at the University of Otago. This Scholarship scheme is available for both Domestic and International Students.
Qualification : PhD, Professional Doctorates
Applicants Must usally be : seeking to obtain their fisrt doctoral Qualification
Number offered : 181 students per anum
Amount : NZ$25,000/- per anum + Tution fees
last date : Applicants can apply any time
Selection Process: Students will be selected through academic merit and applicants potential research
Essential Criteria :
a) Applicants acdemic record should at least 0.75 EFTS.
b) The applicant’s potential for, or record of, research.
c) The advice, recommendation and/or ranking of the relevant Head of Department.
Eligibility for doctoral and Masters’ scholarships:
1) Unless otherwise stated in the schedule, doctoral and Masters’ scholarships are open
to Domestic Fee Paying Students only.3
2) In the case of applicants for a doctoral scholarship, confirmation of the scholarship is
dependent on approval of their application for admission to the relevant doctoral
programme and completion of the enrolment procedure.
3) In the case of applicants for a Master’s scholarship, confirmation of the scholarship is
dependent on approval of their application to register as a Master’s candidate and
completion of the enrolment procedure.
Other than New Zeland Students Academic Qualification :
Students whose degree has been conferred at any university other than a New Zealand or Australian University, will be considered in two separate categories:
• CATEGORY 1: Applicants whose qualifications are from countries in the list available on the website (as reviewed by International Admissions and the Internationalization Committee) must provide an original or certified copy of
the transcript from their university.
• CATEGORY 2: Qualifications from all other countries must be referred to: Education Credential Evaporators, Inc.6
The applicant is required to pay for the evaluation, with the applicant and the University
of Otago each receiving a copy of the resulting evaluation report
