The Secretary-General of the United Nations (UNSG), is the head of the United Nations Secretariat, the main organs of the United Nations. The UNSG also acts as the leader and the de facto spokesperson of the UN.

The present Secretary-General is Ban Ki-moon from South Korea From 1 Jan 2007. On 31 December 2011 his first term expired. He was re-elected second term as The Secretary-Generalon 21 June 2011.

Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations from South Korea took office on 1 January 2007.
